Lesson learned: Back up your files

I'll spare you the details, but I survived a computer "issue" this week. All ended well. My data is safe and sound, and I'm smarter for the experience. I learned an important lesson. Don't put off backing up for another day. One of my new favorite websites is www.mozy.com, an online back up service that provides home users with a free account with up to 2 GB of space. Mozy utilizes 128-bit SSL encryption (the same technology used by banks) to secure your files. You'll have the peace of mind knowing that your resume, company research, and job search correspondence is backed up in a safe, remote location.

A job search is stressful enough. Don't add to the stress by potentially losing your files to a computer glitch.

Good to know. I have portable files stashed at houses of friends and family JUST IN CASE I lose something, the house/office catches fire, etc. I am going to try Mozy.com and start storing my info there.

    Thanks!
